Karwar, the port town on the banks of the Kali River is fringed with beautiful palm beaches. Karwar was once an important settlement for the British and the Portuguese because it was a trade centre especially for pepper. This charming town is complemented by glorious weather and the area is very picturesque with hills and valleys of the Western Ghats, covered with dense tropical jungle on the way to Hubli, a nearby town.

Karwar makes a good starting point, for the voyage of discovering the thrills of the sea, sun and sand. Karwar has everything to make a perfect holiday. Gentle waves, palm-laced beaches and calm, peaceful valleys.

The beauty of Karwar lies in its pristine, golden sands, its dense forests, numerous waterfalls and its ecologically balanced environment. Resplendent with beautiful nature all around, Karwar has flourished for its relevance to mythology and the historical sites prevalent here.

Karwar is also famous for its mouth-watering seafood cuisines and for its fine muslin.

It is very well connected by the Konkan Railway network and a wide, smooth road network that connects cities such as Bengaluru, Hubli, Belgaum, Goa, Mangalore and Mysore.

Karwar enjoys a breezy maritime climate all through the year which makes it an ideal breakaway locale which is accessible and easy to travel to. The monsoon season spurs infectious energy with the pomp and show of the Basanth Panchami with celebrations of kite-flying. Diwali and Dusshera, are celebrated with an equal vibrance and enthusiasm. Pongal, celebrated in mid-January, is also commemorated with a plethora of ethnic and traditional celebrations.
