- White water rafting – The Teesta and Rangit rivers offer a range of rapids along their courses, making white water rafting very inviting for beginners and advanced rafters alike. The Department of Tourism offers professional equipment and trained personnel for rafting, and all you need to carry is an extra pair of dry clothes and sneakers. This is one activity you must not miss.
- Trekking – The Department of Tourism offers organised trekking routes through the mountains around Darjeeling. You can make bookings for the trekkers’ huts available at key destinations and a guide is available to accompany you. One of the most popular treks is Darjeeling-Maneybhanjyang-Tonglu-Sandakphu (and return by same route) which takes four days and offers trekkers an excellent view of the Kanchenjunga and the Everest group of mountain peaks in Nepal, Sikkim, and Bhutan.
