Why Valley View felt like the right choice<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

When I looked at the menu of Valley View at Sterling Kodai Valley, something just clicked. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It wasn\u2019t limited. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There were enough familiar dishes for my parents to feel comfortable. But at the same time, there were clear local options\u2014dishes that felt connected to the region, not just added for the sake of variety. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

That\u2019s what made the decision easy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A place where no one has to compromise<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once we got there, the first thing that stood out was how relaxed everything felt. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

No rush, no pressure. Just a comfortable space where you can sit and take your time. And that itself makes a difference when you\u2019re travelling with family. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The food followed the same idea. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

My parents didn\u2019t have to step out of their comfort zone. They picked dishes they were familiar with, simple and satisfying. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you\u2019re coming to a place like Kodai, it only makes sense to try what\u2019s local. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

That\u2019s where dishes like Kodi Fry and Urlai Roast come in. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Kodi Fry has that slightly spicy, roasted flavour that feels comforting without being too heavy. It\u2019s not overly complicated, but it does exactly what it should feel satisfying with every bite. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Urlai Roast, on the other hand, is simple but surprisingly addictive. Crispy on the outside, soft inside, and full of flavour. It\u2019s one of those dishes that keeps disappearing from the plate without you realising. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

From the regional menu, there were other interesting options too. Dishes like Kozhi Vepudu, a spiced chicken preparation, and Meen Varuval, a crispy fried fish, bring in strong local flavours that feel grounded and familiar to the region.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even something like Natu Kozhi Charu, a peppery country chicken broth, adds warmth to the meal, especially in Kodai\u2019s slightly cool weather.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What made the whole thing work wasn\u2019t just the food. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was everything around it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kodaikanal has that quiet charm the cool breeze, the open views, the calm that just stays with you. It changes how you eat. You\u2019re not rushing through your meal. You\u2019re not constantly checking your phone. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

You just sit there, talk, eat, and take it in. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

And when you\u2019re with family, that matters more than anything else. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There\u2019s always that small worry on family trips what if the food doesn\u2019t work? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can explore local flavours if you want to. Or you can stick to something familiar. Either way, it works. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

And when you\u2019re travelling with family, that flexibility makes all the difference. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A small win that makes the trip better<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not everything on a trip needs to be perfect. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

But when something as simple as a meal goes smoothly, it changes the entire mood. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

You don\u2019t think about it at that moment. But later, you realise how important it was. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
