As a tribute to Chef Dharamadhikari, we are sharing the recipe of one his unique creations served at our resorts \u2013 Newton\u2019s Delight .<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A rich chocolate pastry complemented by the mellow flavour of apples, this dessert can make any occasion a special one.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-6785 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sterlingholidays.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/Newtons-Delight.png\" alt=\"Newtons Delight Dessert Recipe Sterling Holidays\" width=\"1140\" height=\"528\" \/><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Recipe:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h3><strong>For the ganache<\/strong><\/h3>\n<table border=\"1\" cellspacing=\"0\" cellpadding=\"0\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td valign=\"top\" width=\"308\">Ingredients<\/td>\n<td valign=\"top\" width=\"308\">Quantity<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td valign=\"top\" width=\"308\">Dark Chocolate<\/td>\n<td valign=\"top\" width=\"308\">140 gms<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td valign=\"top\" width=\"308\">Fresh Cream<\/td>\n<td valign=\"top\" width=\"308\">150 gms<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td valign=\"top\" width=\"308\">Unsalted Butter<\/td>\n<td valign=\"top\" width=\"308\">1 tbsp<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<h3>Method<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Boil water in a double boiler (two vessels\/pans nestled into each other with the top one fitting only half way.)<\/li>\n<li>Break the dark chocolate into small pieces, place in the double boiler and allow it to melt.<\/li>\n<li>Once the chocolate melts, mix in the cream and butter. Stir until smooth. Strain the mixture and set aside.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>For the sugar syrup<\/strong><\/h3>\n<table border=\"1\" cellspacing=\"0\" cellpadding=\"0\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td valign=\"top\" width=\"308\">Ingredients<\/td>\n<td valign=\"top\" width=\"308\">Quantity<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td valign=\"top\" width=\"308\">Granulated Sugar<\/td>\n<td valign=\"top\" width=\"308\">30 gms<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td valign=\"top\" width=\"308\">Water<\/td>\n<td valign=\"top\" width=\"308\">120 ml<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td valign=\"top\" width=\"308\">Vanilla Essence<\/td>\n<td valign=\"top\" width=\"308\">Few drops<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<h3>Method<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Boil water in a medium sauce pan over a medium flame.<\/li>\n<li>Add the sugar and vanilla essence. Stir until the sugar dissolves completely and slightly thickens into syrup. Remove from the flame and set aside to cool.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>For the apple sauce<\/strong><\/h3>\n<table border=\"1\" cellspacing=\"0\" cellpadding=\"0\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td valign=\"top\" width=\"308\">Ingredients<\/td>\n<td valign=\"top\" width=\"308\">Quantity<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td valign=\"top\" width=\"308\">Apple (Peeled and Cored)<\/td>\n<td valign=\"top\" width=\"308\">1 no. (Large Size)<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td valign=\"top\" width=\"308\">Golden Syrup<\/td>\n<td valign=\"top\" width=\"308\">2 tbsp<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td valign=\"top\" width=\"308\">Cinnamon<\/td>\n<td valign=\"top\" width=\"308\">A pinch<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<h3>Method<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Puree the apple in a blender until smooth.<\/li>\n<li>Pour the golden syrup in the puree to form a thick sauce like consistency. Add a pinch of cinnamon, mix well and set aside.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>For Chocolate Sponge<\/h3>\n<table border=\"1\" cellspacing=\"0\" cellpadding=\"0\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td valign=\"top\" width=\"308\">Ingredients<\/td>\n<td valign=\"top\" width=\"308\">Quantity<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td valign=\"top\" width=\"308\">Refined Flour or Maida<\/td>\n<td valign=\"top\" width=\"308\">60 gms<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td valign=\"top\" width=\"308\">Cocoa powder<\/td>\n<td valign=\"top\" width=\"308\">15 gms<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td valign=\"top\" width=\"308\">Granulated Sugar<\/td>\n<td valign=\"top\" width=\"308\">75 gms<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td valign=\"top\" width=\"308\">Eggs (Separate the whites and yolks)<\/td>\n<td valign=\"top\" width=\"308\">3 nos<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td valign=\"top\" width=\"308\">Vanilla Essence<\/td>\n<td valign=\"top\" width=\"308\">Few drops<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<h3>Method<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Pre-heat the oven to 170 degrees Celsius<\/li>\n<li>Grease and dust a circular 8\u201d cake tin or line it with a greased parchment paper<\/li>\n<li>In a large bowl, sieve flour and cocoa powder.<\/li>\n<li>In another large mixing bowl, beat the egg white with sugar using an electric beater or whisk until the mixture is frothy and begins to form peaks.<\/li>\n<li>Beat the egg yolk gently with a fork in a small bowl.<\/li>\n<li>Add the beaten egg yolk along with vanilla to the egg white mixture and mix gently<\/li>\n<li>Now fold in sieved flour &amp; cocoa and mix gently using a large spoon until it shapes into a thick &amp; smooth cake batter.<\/li>\n<li>Pour the batter into the cake tin and bake at 170 degrees Celsius for 15 minutes or till knife\/skewer comes out clean, when inserted.<\/li>\n<li>Release the cake from the tin on a wire rack and allow it to cool.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>To serve the Newton\u2019s Delight<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Once the sponge has cooled, slit the cake horizontally into 3 even layers<\/li>\n<li>Using a pastry brush, moisten each layer gently with the sugar syrup, taking care not to make it too soggy.<\/li>\n<li>Layer the chocolate sponge and ganache one on top of the other, to make a triple layered cake.<\/li>\n<li>Pour the remaining ganache on top of the cake to give it a shiny &amp; smooth finish.<\/li>\n<li>Chill before cutting into slices.
