Aby\u2019s Kitchen<\/h2>\n

Climb up a narrow staircase to this hole-in- the-wall restaurant that smells of cheese and\u00a0brownies. It was set up by a couple who migrated to Kodaikanal to get away from city life.<\/p>\n

The eatery is frequented by children of Kodaikanal International School, whom Aby\u2019s is\u00a0always happy to host.<\/p>\n

What to eat:<\/strong> Aby\u2019s does not offer any specific cuisine, but most of their menu is to die for.\u00a0The mozzarella cheese sticks, homemade pizzas, and Oreo milkshake are highly\u00a0recommended.<\/p>\n

This small joint, run by a Tibetan family, is one of the\u00a0best destinations for authentic Tibetan cuisine at a reasonable rate.<\/p>\n

What to eat:<\/strong> This place is a non-vegetarian\u2019s delight, but vegetarians too can have a\u00a0satisfying experience. Try the momos with traditional spicy red sauce. If you are game for\u00a0Indo-Tibetan fusion, the chowmein is great.<\/p>\n

Must try:<\/strong> Chicken Thukpa\u2014this traditional Tibetan noodle soup with shredded meat is\u00a0perfect for a cold afternoon, and completely filling if had with momos.<\/p>\n

Tips:<\/strong> Don\u2019t stop here if you\u2019re in a hurry. The service can be slow, but the food is worth the\u00a0wait.<\/p>\n

Cloud Street<\/h2>\n

At the far end of \u2018Eat Street\u2019 is Cloud Street, Kodaikanal\u2019s best continental restaurant.\u00a0Although not a fine-dining restaurant, its fare is as relishing as that of a five-star hotel.\u00a0Cloud Street is located on the first floor, and has an open-air seating area, from where one\u00a0can enjoy the sights of the street below.<\/p>\n

What to eat:<\/strong> Try their pizzas or the beef steak\u2014the locals swear by it. If you are in the\u00a0mood for something sweet, then their lemon cake is worth a try.<\/p>\n

Must try:<\/strong> Chocolate brownies\u2014perfectly dense and chocolaty, these will melt in your\u00a0mouth.<\/p>\n

Tips<\/strong>: Cloud Street is best experienced during the monsoons. Grab a cup of hot chocolate,\u00a0a brownie, and watch the rains from the balcony.<\/p>\n

Caf\u00e9 Cariappa<\/h2>\n

If you aren\u2019t too hungry and love your coffee, Caf\u00e9 Cariappa is one place you should not\u00a0miss. It has just place enough for four, and serves arguably some of the best coffee in\u00a0India.<\/p>\n

What to eat:<\/strong> The coffee sold here is grown organically by the owner in his plantation. His\u00a0barista brews the perfect cup of coffee, which goes amazingly well with the almond\u00a0biscotti.<\/p>\n

Must try:<\/strong> The cappuccino and Toscakaka (Tosca Cake) make the most wonderful combo\u00a0ever. Make sure your cappuccino has no sugar; the flavour of coffee would come out well\u00a0then.<\/p>\n

The ambience is quite English, and the place provides a twist to tea, making it the ideal drink any time of the day.<\/p>\n

What to eat:<\/strong> Enjoy global favourites like\u00a0pasta and beef steak, and an interesting selection of tea.<\/p>\n
