Kufri: Himachal's Snow Capital

Discovered by the British in 1819 when Nepal handed over the region following the Anglo-Gurkha War, Kufri is a quaint hill station in the Shimla district. Dotted with colonial-style buildings, terrace farms and potato plantations, Kufri is also the starting point for treks to Manali, Rewalsar and Fagu. With abundant snowfall during winter, the winding paths through potato plantations get transformed into ski tracks.

Being the highest point among the surrounding regions, Kufri has a little something for everyone, be it trekking or adventure sports, or just a laidback holiday to enjoy the impressive mountain views.
