Trek to the Beatles Ashram

The Beatles Ashram is famous for its architecture, history, and the surrounding natural beauty. Guests can visit the Ashram daily between sunrise and sunset. It sits on a tall and mighty cliff overlooking the holy Ganges, on a hill called Manikoot, surrounded by dense greens. The timeless practice of yoga and meditation in Rishikesh has always been one of the major reasons why visitors have flocked this destination. The Ashram was inspired by the teachings of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi and it gained international attention in the late 60s when the English rock band Beatles and a few other celebrities studied meditation here. The Beatles became his faithful disciples. With this, Rishikesh gained global recognition and came to be known as the “Yoga Capital of the World.” Even though the Ashram was locked down for a long time, the complex became a sanctuary for the many Beatles’ fans and graffiti artists.
