BEST TIME TO VISIT

Cooler weather and lush forest landscapes

The post-monsoon months bring cooler temperatures and a vibrant green landscape. This is a comfortable time for safaris, especially for travellers who prefer pleasant weather while exploring the forest.

Warmer days and greater visibility

As summer sets in, the forest becomes drier and vegetation thins out. Wildlife activity around water sources can make these months particularly rewarding for those hoping to spot larger mammals.

Core zones remain closed

The core tourism zones remain closed during the monsoon. Selected buffer zones may offer wildlife experiences, subject to the prevailing forest department regulations and operating schedule

Kanha's safari season generally runs from mid-October to June, with the core tourism zones closed during the monsoon. The forest offers a different experience through the open season, so the best time to visit depends on what you want from your safari.
