Murg Potli Kebab
A bag full of flavour!

Potli means a traditional purse or small bag in Hindi. Murg Potli Kebab, a dish which mimics the shape of a potli, is an easy-to-make aromatic parcel of minced chicken and spices. Serve it as a special on your Sunday brunch or as an evening snack and enjoy the praise from your family and friends.?

| Chicken breast slit | 2 nos |
| Chicken mince | 110 gms |
| Whole Spices | 1 tsp |
| Chopped onion | 3 tsp |
| Green chillies | 2 nos |
| Mint leaves | 6-7 sprigs |
| Coriander leaves | 2 tbsp |
| Cooking Oil | 20 ml |
| Hung curd | 4 tbsp (1/4 cup) |
| Ginger paste | 2 tsp |
| Garlic paste | 2 tsp |
| Green chilli paste | 1 tsp |
| Cashew nut paste | 1 tbsp |
| Cream | 1 tbsp |
| Turmeric powder | 1tsp |
| Jeera powder | 1tsp |
| Cardamom powder | 1 tsp |
| Garam masala | 1 tsp |
| Salt | To taste |
| Butter | To brush |
| Toothpicks | As required |
Method
- Slit open the chicken breast slices without cutting through completely. Open and flatten it using kitchen hammer or a heavy spoon.
- In a medium pan, heat oil and sauté the chicken mince with whole spices, chopped onion, chopped green chillies, coriander leaves, mint leaves and pinch of salt. Stir for 10-15 minutes until cooked. Keep aside.
- Divide the mixture into two equal balls and stuff in the chicken slices. Fold it around to shape it like a kebab and seal it with toothpick.
- In another bowl, whip together hung curd, ginger & garlic paste, chilli paste, cashew paste, cream, turmeric, jeera powder, cardamom powder, garam masala, 1 tbsp oil and salt.
- Marinate the chicken kebabs in the curd paste for 30-40 minutes in refrigerator.
- Cook the kebabs in a preheated oven at 200 degree Celsius or in a tandoor for about 20 minutes or till light brown. Keep brushing butter in between to keep the kebabs moist and for even browning. Serve with garlic chutney.
