Paneer Tikka
A tangy and spicy starter
Paneer tikka (soft paneer cubes marinated in spices and grilled) is one of the best starters in any popular Indian restaurant. It can also be served as a snack in barbecues. Given below is the method to make this wonderful dish.
The marinade is the main element which gives taste to the paneer. So take extra care in preparing both marinades.
Recipe:

Paneer cubes | 200 gm |
Marinade 1
Ingredients | Quantity |
Lemon juice | 30 ml |
Red chili powder | 10 gm |
Cumin (roasted and ground) | 5 gm |
Salt | 5 gm or as per taste |
Marinade 2
Ingredients | Quantity |
Yogurt | 100 gm |
Ginger paste | 20 gm |
Green chili paste | 15 gm |
Black pepper (ground) | 5 gm |
Cumin seeds | 3 gm |
Turmeric | 3 gm |
Gram flour | 50 gm |
Mint chutney | 50 gm |
Method
- Put a pan on stove and add paneer cubes to it. Pour some water in it.
- When the water boils, the paneer cubes will float. Then, drain the water.
- Mix all the ingredients of marinade 1 and put the cubes in it. Leave aside for an hour.
- Now mix all the ingredients of marinade 2 and add the already marinated cubes to it. Leave aside for an hour.
- Take the cubes out, skewer and cook in a tandoor.
- Serve with mint chutney.
