HOME DESTINATIONS Palavelli Godavari
Paddy Field
If you’ve ever wondered what it feels like to work with the land like a true farmer, here’s an opportunity to experience it.

Rice cultivation is the major livelihood of the people in the Konaseema region. Chitti Mutyalu, Sona Masoori, Kurnool Sona, Bangaru Theegalu, Krishna Hamsa and Keshava are some of the varieties of rice that have been produced in this region. Unlike in other Indian states, in West Godavari, the harvest happens 4 times. The richness of the soil, the availability of freshwater, and the localites’ love for farming are some of the major reasons for this year-round cultivation.
If you’ve ever wondered what it feels like to work with the land like a true farmer, here’s an opportunity to experience it. Pull up your skirts and trousers and get into the wet field, planting tiny paddy crops, learning the process of cultivation and singing folk songs with the enthusiastic farmers of the region.
