Bhangarh Fort: A Fort Haunted by a Magician's Curse
Renowned as the ‘Most Haunted Place in India’, Bhangarh was originally a thriving ancient town.
Constructed in the 17th century by Madho Singh, one of the nine esteemed courtiers of Emperor Akbar, the Bhangarh Fort was intended for his son, Man Singh I. This architectural marvel was once a symbol of both beauty and authority. Historical accounts suggest that Bhangarh was home to over 10,000 residents before it was supposedly abandoned overnight. It is said that the place was cursed by a sage. People also say that if you put your ears close to the walls of the houses here, you can listen to voices.
Good to Know:
The fort is open from 10 am to 5 pm and entry is charged at INR 40 for Indian tourists and INR 200 for foreigners. About 45kms and an hour’s drive from Sterling Rewild Sariska.
