Kankwari Fort is renowned for being the site where Emperor Aurangzeb imprisoned his brother, Dara Shikoh, in the late 17th century. The fort stands atop a rocky hill, offering panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Today, it serves as a popular attraction for visitors to the Sariska National Park. The journey to Kankwari Fort is not only a trek through time but also an opportunity to immerse oneself in the natural splendor of the Aravalli hills.
Good to know:
The fort is approximately 22 kilometers inside the forest and the only way to reach the Fort is by booking a safari through the Sariska Tiger Reserve. It is highly recommended that you carry food and water because the place is in a remote location and don’t forget your camera to click some scenic shots.
